Friendly Christchurch Central Accommodation

We had a great experience here. We had a suite with separate living area and kitchen area. Good location in walking distance to the central area. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. We liked it so much that we booked it again on our return before flying out.

Can't say enough great things about this place! Wonderful and caring staff. Nice big rooms. Amazing location! Can walk anywhere. Beds are super comfy and it is by far the quietest place I have ever stayed! I slept great. Nice warm place too. Love all the extra security. Felt very safe.

Very friendly welcome and the room was clean and warm. Perfect location for us as walking distance to the Town Hall. My negative would be that a shelf in the bathroom is very much needed, no where at all to pop any toiletries, didn’t bother us too much for just a one night stay, but not ideal if you are there for longer.

Fantastic place to stay! We arrived here to extremely friendly hosts who went the extra mile to accommodate us after we'd arrived one day early. Motel was in an excellent location, close to the city centre and only a short stroll to the Casino, we were attending a gig at the Town Hall and this was the perfect place for us. The room was spacious and clean, bed super comfortable and the hosts extremely friendly. Can't recommend highly enough, will definitely be back only next time I'll book for the correct day!

I picked Focus Motel and Executive Suites for a 2 night stay based on its proximity to the city center and being very close to my rental car pickup location. It was a great choice. We had a very large two bedroom suite (we booked a one bedroom) with a great tub (and shower). Everything was clean and tidy, Coffee and tea and milk were provided, and we had a fridge and little stove. There was laundry facilities on site.

The owners were still on site when we arrived (we came on the train and it can be delayed at times) and they were lovely. We were minutes from the Botanical Garden and Quake City, and an easy walk to the town center and there were great food and drink options close by. There was free parking so we could load our luggage once we picked up our car. The lodging was secured at night. It was quiet.

It was everything we wanted and needed at a fair price in the middle of NZ's summer!

Highly recommended. Although my stay was a short one I found that it was the little touches which make this spot special. From the Sky television, to the fresh milk in the fridge and thoughtful toiletries, this clean, friendly motel fits the bill.

Excellen place to stay, walkable to everything. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Focus was able to offer us room 1 at very short notice. Much appreciated.

We only had one night in Christchurch but were happy with our stay here. Clean, comfortable and a friendly welcome. It was close enough to the centre of the city and we enjoyed breakfast in a nearby coffee shop. Parking was allocated and there was a lift.

Room was clean and comfortable except the lack of air conditioning. The bedroom was separate from a living area and small kitchenette as well as offering a patio and small dining table. We appreciated that there was a lift and gated parking.

We were able to walk to everything except the grocery store. We probably could have just did not plan before we had walked all day. However there were small stores for the necessities nearby.

The hotel offered ground coffee and a French press, which is a nice addition. One item I did not appreciate was how dirty the vent for the fan in the bathroom was. I could almost reach it and did attempt to wipe the half inch thick dust but was not quite tall enough so I was only able to remove very little.

The reception person was super friendly and helpful. Even walked us to the room. Later we had an issue with the remote batteries and she followed me back up and seemed happy to help.

One last item of note, there is great views, however, the space was comfortable. We were looking to see the city and not a view so this location was great.

Small studio apartment, bar fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle. Wall mounted TV comfortable bed. Bathroom steams up badly even with the exhaust fan operating. Good parking space, close to numerous restaurants & bottle shop. Great guest laundry at reasonable cost.

Couldn't have asked for better care. Linda went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Units were spotlessly clean and well provisioned. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you very much - would fully recommend to others

Great modern motel complex in the centre of the city. Easy access and parking, friendly greeting and explanation of nearby attractions. Rooms are modern and very comfortable, not the most spacious but in the city centre so more than adequate for the convenience of being in easy walking distance.

We had a two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen ( in a tight area as you entered the apartment). It was comfortable and despite being on a busy corner, you could not hear the traffic. Well stocked with kitchen items; comfortable beds; very clean. The lady who was at the reception was very pleasant and helpful.

We had a great 2 night stay early February, received a very friendly welcome, the suites were very comfortable, spotless & had everything we needed. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Christchurch.

Perfectly located for the event we were going to in North Hagley Park and an easy (and really beautiful) walk into the hospitality precinct. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed, amazing shower, and the hosts were friendly, took an interest in what we were doing and that we knew where to find everything in town, and great to chat to in general. Great value for money, great place to stay! Easy 5 stars!

Amazingly helpful hosts who focussed on making our stay exceptional. Fabulous location close to the city centre and airport public bus. Can easily self cater for breakfast etc and numerous quality restaurants available within 5 minutes walk.

A warm welcome from the owner who provided lots of useful information. Super clean, comfortable accommodation, safe parking on the premises and an easy walk into the city centre. Would love to stay again! 😊

I stayed here with my elderly mother for 3 nights in the penthouse suite. This suite has 2 large bedrooms, with the main one having an ensuite. There is also a second bathroom right next to the other bedroom. There is a large lounge, dining and kitchen area with everything you could need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The lift up to the apartment makes taking luggage up easy. The suite also has a dishwasher, a great aircon (much needed on hot days as the sun pours into the room) and multiple TVs. The motel is close walking distance to many great restaurants, a short 5 mins walk away on Victoria Street. It's also within a stones throw to the Christchurch Casino, Quake City and Christchurch CBD. The secure parking is great and feels very safe, however the carparks are a bit tight, especially if you have a larger car. You just need to pick your spot carefully! The host was very helpful with maps and asking if we needed to know anything about Christchurch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and will be doing so next year.

Outstanding! So clean, comfortable, great location, well presented, comfy bed, very affordable, welcoming (with a wee personalized sign on your room door!) I could go on...and on! HIGHLY recommend! Best accommodation I've stayed in for a very long time.

Roy the owner was a really friendly and helpful guy. Though location not as near to the city centre, was really close to the major car rentals which helped me a lot with my itinerary.

Focus Motel was an excellent choice for my recent visit to Christchurch. The unit was spotless and spacious and the owners were so kind and helpful. Added to this the location was ideal - walking distance to Hagley Park and to the centre of town (10-15 minutes), with several great restaurants also in the vicinity.

Focus Motel & Executive Suites went way beyond expectations and I find it hard to believe the review below. Read further down and you will see glowing compliments. They lent us gear to clean our car and made our holiday a very enjoyable experience. If we need accommodation again in Christchurch this is where we will be staying. The apartment was spotless and in a walking down town location. Congratulations team on your friendly professional service.
