Excellent stay
I wanted to take a moment to thank Gin and Phil for an excellent stay at their Motel. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well looked after. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, and I really appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Your staff were friendly, attentive, and consistently helpful – it made the whole experience feel effortless. Little touches like , great breakfast, easy parking, local recommendations, comfy bed, fast Wi-Fi, and you sense of humor with us made a real difference. Thank you again for such a positive stay. I’ll happily return on my next visit!!
Perfect Place to Stay in City Centre
Everything was perfect from the gentleman that welcomed us to when we left. Great location. Just a few minutes walk to town hall and casino and heaps of restaurants nearby. Only 15 min walk to Riverside Market. Very clean, nice cosy beds/pillows and nice white quality towels. Great selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate and bottle of milk in fridge. Very comprehensive folder containing so much useful information (best I have ever seen!). The chocolate on bedside cabinet by each bed was a nice surprise. Gates are locked at 8pm so feels very safe plus car is in locked area. No charge for car park. Tag and pin to get in and out after 8pm.

Location was closer than looked on the map for our activities, great 5 min walk in the centre. Breakfast was fabulous and plentiful, fresh couldn't ask for better.

This is a great place to stay , lovely greeting upon arrival taken to our room, the room was small but well set up with a spacious balcony , everything in our room is just done well everything works very tidy

Awesome location, the owner was great and showed us our room which had lovely touches (bath salts, magazines etc), breakfast was delicious. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.

Highly recommended! I stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a truly wonderful experience. Gin, the lady who manages the place, was absolutely amazing — so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe throughout my stay. There’s also convenient parking close to the rooms. I definitely recommend this place!

Location was perfect 10 min walk to the centre easy to find good secure parking everything we needed in the apartment. Breakfast was vet good

Loved the continental breakfast that was included in our rate. Lovely fresh items and plentiful. Great location for walking into town centre and secure parking

We returned to Focus Motel for a 5 night stay after traveling other parts of the South Island - we had stayed for one night when we arrived in the South Island prior to starting the rest of our travels. We received a warm, friendly welcome from Phil & Gin and they asked how our trip had been. They ensured we had everything to make our stay comfortable. The room was warm and comfortable and well equipped. Despite being so close to the centre of the city noise was minimal thanks to the soundproofing. Having a lift was fantastic and made it so much easier to get bags up and down from the room. Walking distance to the center of Christchurch and a few attractions meant we didnt need to navigate traffic or parking to go into the city and knowing there was secure parking for our rental car gave us piece of mind.

I was greeted by the very friendly and helpful owner and shown personally to our room. The room was clean, tidy and well-maintained. It had everything we needed for our brief overnight stay and early start. The breakfast included was handy too.

Fantastic stay! Great location, spotless rooms, and outstanding service. I accidentally dropped my car keys in the after-hours dropbox while checking out early. I called, and the owners came out straight away to swap keys, saving me any delay. Truly amazing service—thank you!

Just what I needed!
After a long day on the road I arrived late with a space reserved for my traveling van comes off in their secure car park. Room warm and cozy ready for my rest. Exceptionally comfortable bed saw me sleep until after 8am which I never usually do. A well prepared continental breakfast has just been completed ready to hit the road again. Great location. This is my new central city Christchurch accommodation! Cheers.

Had a great stay here. Was very cold weather and we were warm and very comfortable. We were helped to our room by a very friendly lady. There was even a lift. Great room with plenty of space and a balcony. Easy to get to so many restaurants. Even had electric blankets and my personal favourite was the fresh milk. Thank you:)
Well appointed, clean and well presented, we loved having the lift as my husband struggles to get upstairs, Phil was very welcoming. We would most definitely stay there again.
